Kenya safari in 5 days with visit to the Aberdares national park including a night stay at a tree hotel / lodge

Tour proceeds to the Lake Nakuru National park in the Rift valley to view birdlife and wildlife including the endangered Rhino (you can choose to visit Lake Bogoria instead if you are more keen on viewing the flamingo

At the Aberdare national park,game viewing into the late night is from the balconies of your Tree hotel

Tour accommodation is provided in optional economy, standard, luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

Safari transport and game viewing drives are in a customized pop up top safari minivan..

You can upgrade to pop up top 4 x 4 land cruiser jeep at an extra fee

Safari itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi- Aberdare National Park: (160 km.3hours)

0800am: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel/Nairobi Airport

Proceed to the Aberdare national park

The drive is via the central Kenya highlands with stops to view tea and coffee plantations.

There shall be a further stop to see and experience the largest open air market in East Africa at Karatina

Afternoon and evening spent game viewing from the balconies of your Tree lodge (animals come to the saltlick /waterhole)

The Aberdare national park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker

Overnight at a Tree hotel (note only overnight bags are allowed at the tree hotel)

Wildlife viewing,bird watching.

Day 2: Aberdares- Lake Nakuru National Park: (240 km: 4 Hrs.)

Later proceed to the lake Nakuru national park.

There shall be a stop to view the scenic Thompson falls at Nyahururu.

The drive via farming country and local homesteads via the Great rift valley escarpment floor is scenic.

Afternoon bird watching and game viewing drive.

Enjoy the diverse ecology and varied habitats that range from the Lake itself to the surrounding areas.

Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching easy hikes and game viewing drives

The lake is home to hundreds of thousands of flamingoes (numbers low of late)and other bird species.

Lake Nakuru hosts in its sanctuary the black and white rhinos.

Overnight at your lake Nakuru lodge or tented camp.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

What you may see at lake Nakuru national park .....

Flamingo, different terrestial bird species, unique vegetation of about 550 different plant species, Waterfalls, White Rhino, Black Rhino, waterbucks.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara: (285 km: 5.5 Hrs.)

Morning bird and game viewing drives

Depart for the Masai Mara game reserve with stops at scenic points along the safari route

Afternoon game viewing drive at the Mara

Overnight at your Masai Mara safari lodge or tented camp.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4: Full Day - Masai Mara

Today shall be a game viewing extravaganza!

Masai Mara Game reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region.

The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities.

We shall traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game.

 

Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July - October)

Overnight shall be at our Masai Mara safari lodge/ Tented camp

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 5: Masai Mara - Nairobi (265 kms- 5 hrs)

A morning game viewing drive at the Masai mara.

An extra game drive as you depart the reserve.

Proceed to Nairobi

Arrive Nairobi in the late afternoon.

Drop off at your Nairobi hotel / Nairobi airport

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch.
