Here’s the perfect change of pace from your Zanzibar island vacation – six stunning days of non-stop safari action! We’ll whisk you from the beach straight to the town of Arusha, and from there into a private 4 x 4 safari jeep to the four most exciting parks in northern Tanzania.
We’ll handle all the details and logistics, you only have to smile when our Natural World Kenya Safaris team arrives at your hotel to bring you to Abeid Karume International Airport for the easy hour and fifteen-minute flight to Arusha.
Let’s Start At Tarangire
Following our arrival at Arusha, we’ll bundle into our Land Cruiser Jeep for the drive to Tarangire National Park. Not as well known as some of the latter parks we’ll visit, we’ll see lots more wildlife than tourists at this fascinating reserve, home to over 8,000 elephants!
Our next park is unlike any you’ll see in Africa or anyplace else. Visiting the Ngorongoro Crater is like being dropped into a realm where time has stopped to allow the wildlife to vastly multiply, untouched by the outside world. This is the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet and we’ll descend its depths to find a rich universe of over 30,000 animals – from lions to rhinos to pink flamingoes – all waiting to be discovered by you.
The Endless Serengeti
Then, our safari takes us to the sprawling savannahs of Serengeti National Park, an epic reserve populated with millions of wildebeests, over 3,000 lions, zebras, gazelles, crocodiles, hippos, and 500 bird species.
We’ll enjoy two days here exploring the great park’s vast regions, looking for elephants, jackals, wolves, wild dogs, baboons, monkeys, and more.
For our final park, we’ll shift gears again, traveling to a colorful, small jewel of a reserve called Lake Manyara National Park. However, don’t be misled by its compact size – Manyara still holds many treasures, like a technicolor display of uncountable bright pink flamingoes, crowding the blue lake’s shorelines.
And the park’s nearby acacia forests will offer us elephants, wildebeests, monkeys, zebra, baboons, and hippos. Most astonishing of all are Lake Manyara’s tree-climbing lions which you’ll find overhead, taking naps in the acacia branches!
Full Circle
Completing our four-park circuit, we’ll head back to Arusha and catch our fast flight back to Zanzibar. There, a Natural World Kenya Safaris rep will bring you back to your hotel.
As we said, we’ll handle all the details – you only have to show up to have a spectacular six-day safari. Sound like a fun getaway? Just contact us here to learn more.

Zanzibar – Arusha
1 ¼ Hour Flight
Arusha – Tarangire National Park (140 km. Approx. 3 hrs. drive)
Your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver/guide will be at the Arusha Airport waiting with a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep for the drive to Tarangire Park.
We’ll get to the park with plenty of time for game drives this afternoon, looking for the great populations of elephants and lions that grace the striking landscapes here.
We’ll start our safari exploring for impala, antelope, giraffe, buffalo, monkeys, and more. Tarangire is also a wonderful spot for birding.
But you can’t miss the spectacular baobab trees punctuating the plains with their enormous trunks, standing like giant sentinels.
We will spend our first safari night at our Tarangire lodge or tented camp.
Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater (204 km. Approx. 5 hrs.)
Say ‘hello’ to our first safari morning – let’s enjoy the quiet and soft light of the new day upon Tarangire’s lovely fields. We’ll have breakfast and head out to the Ngorongoro Crater area.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site and “Eighth Wonder of the World”, first presents as an awesome vista, a 263 sq. km (101 sq. mi) bowl left on the earth’s surface after the collapse of a giant volcano. What you’ll find here is a complete ecosystem, virtually cut off from the rest of Africa, home to over 30,000 animals.
Are you ready? We’ll descend the crater’s steep walls in our 4 x 4 Jeep, landing in a universe of lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, zebra, hippos, crocs, and even pink flamingoes.
We’ll spend a fun day exploring Ngorongoro’s forests, grasslands, marshes, and lakes finding a dense concentration of wildlife that time and the rest of the world forgot.
Toward late afternoon, we will head back up the steep walls to pause at the crater’s rim for the final peak of a glorious day, one of Ngorongoro’s signature blazing sunsets.
We will spend our second safari night at our Ngorongoro lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park (211 km. Approx. 4 hrs.)
Today is a big day, we’re off to explore the mighty Serengeti but on the way, we’ll make a detour at one of the most important anthropological sites in the world, Olduvai Gorge. Here was discovered a treasure of fossilized human remains and tools, a record of mankind’s evolution going back millions of years.
Then, arriving at Serengeti, you’ll take in its endless rolling savannahs, home to thousands of elephants, lions, jackals, and other predators.
We’ll enjoy some afternoon game drives before heading to our accommodation.
We’ll spend the evening at our Serengeti safari lodge or tented camp.
FULL DAY AT SERENGETI
We designed this safari to take advantage of the riches of Serengeti – we will spend a full day exploring the park’s regions and the manifest populations of wildlife.
Besides the big cats, we’ll be tracking for rhino, buffalo, wild dog, honey badger, zebra, gazelle, and over at the park’s rivers, crocodiles, and hippos.
Other park favorites include eland, giraffe, klipspringer, and warthogs.
We’ll spend a second evening at our Serengeti safari lodge or tented camp.
Serengeti – Lake Manyara National Park (156 km. Approx. 4 hrs.)
Let’s take an early morning game drive through the park, looking for that last elephant, giraffe, or warthog. Then we’re off to Lake Manyara National Park, as compact as Serengeti is large. But don’t let that fool you, Lake Manyara is a busy reserve filled with every sort of bird and animal life.
Dominating the park is the blue alkaline lake, dressed with thousands (sometimes millions) of dazzling pink flamingoes who thrive on the water’s algae. You’ll also find pelican, stork, grey heron, and other water birds around the busy lake.
The forests here hold a colorful variety of wildlife as well like buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, impala, and giraffe. Monkeys? You’ll find the rascals skipping over the mahogany and acacia trees and the thumping troops of baboons are the most plentiful in any African park.
But do look up into the branches of the acacia trees where you might find the park’s most unusual species – tree-climbing lions. They like to take naps up there so don’t disturb them!
We’ll spend our evening at our Lake Manyara safari lodge or tented camp.
Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha (149 km. Approx. 3 hrs.)
1 ¼ Hour Flight
Our final safari morning and we’ll take one last drive around the pretty park to see the wildlife and bid adieu to the vast blanket of pink flamingoes at the water’s edge.
Along our route back to town we’ll pause to rest, enjoy lunch and take in the views.
We’ll have you at the airport in plenty of time for your 16:45 hrs. (4:45 pm) flight back to Zanzibar, landing at 18:00 hrs. (6:00 pm).
There at the international airport in Zanzibar, you’ll be met by a Natural World Kenya Safaris driver who will bring you back to your hotel or place of your choosing.
We told you we’d handle all the details and all you had to do was enjoy yourself, take photos and memories, and generally have a wonderful time. We hope you did and we thank you for your time, interest, and commitment to Africa’s immortal world of wildlife.
