Starts Nairobi/Ends Nairobi – We’ll pick you up from the Nairobi Airport, your hotel or residence and transfer to nearby Wilson Airport for your morning flight.

A flight safari is the perfect solution for those who don’t have the extra time of an overland trip. In under an hour you’ll travel from Nairobi, enjoying the golden vistas of Kenya from the air and settle at a convenient airstrip in the Masai Mara.

There you’ll be welcomed and ushered in a private customized pop up top Land Cruiser Jeep to your lodge or tented camp. Then get ready for 3 days of unlimited animal viewing throughout the vast stretches of the Mara.

You’ll have plenty of time to take in the wonders of this famous park. The Masai Mara National Game Reserve is known for its dense population of big cats, broad rolling grasslands and graceful acacia trees highlighting the landscape.

Famous for Africa’s Big Five sightings as well as cheetah, hyena, topi and foxes, the reserve is perhaps most known for the startling abundance of its great migration. Here millions of wildebeest, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle transit from the Serengeti crossing the Mara River into the reserve.

You’ll have opportunities to view hippo and crocodile too by the Mara river. In migration season (July – October) you’ll be treated to innumerable herds of foraging animals as they descend into the Mara.

Nairobi – Masai Mara

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

7:00 hrs. – We’ll pick you up at the location of your choice – hotel, residence, or the Nairobi airport for the easy ride over to Wilson Airport.

There, you’ll board your plane for the approximately one-hour flight to the Masai Mara.

Winging over the sprawling Kenyan landscape, you’ll be treated to views of iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro and the dramatic escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

Mid-morning you’ll touch down at the Mara airstrip where you’ll be met by your guide for the next three days. Your Natural World Kenya Safaris guide will grab your bags and usher you into a private, open-top  4 x 4 safari Jeep.

This first short ride to your accommodation will be your introduction to the striking grasslands and picturesque acacia trees of the Masai Mara Reserve.

Settle in at your safari lodge or tented camp and get ready for lunch. There, over your first meal in the reserve, your guide will discuss various aspects of the park and areas you might like to explore.

Then it’s time to hop into your open-top 4 x 4 Jeep for a more extended game drive into the reserve. You probably won’t have to go far before spotting some of the park’s prodigious wildlife. All of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ are found here – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.

In fact, the Masai Mara is the densest ecosystem in the region with more than 95 mammal species treading over its rolling hills and nestled by its rivers.

Remember, while our guest, you get to choose the pace and schedule of your safari. Go on as many game drives as you please. Or, you can take rest breaks back at your accommodation. Just discuss with your guide how you’d like to plan your safari.

Note: For those guests staying at conservancies who wish to travel to the Mara triangle area to view the Great Migration river crossings, there is an $80 per person surcharge.

On your first safari evening, you’ll relax and enjoy dinner at the safari lodge or tented campground of your choice.

Full Day – Masai Mara

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’re on safari time and that means an early rise to enjoy the morning light creeping across the plains and the sight of the wildlife emerging into the new day. This will be a full day of game drives and to do as you please.

Should you be fortunate enough to visit the reserve during the season of the Great Migration (July – October) you will witness one of the natural wonders of the planet – an unending train of wildebeests and zebras crossing into the park over the Mara River on their annual trek.

And waiting for them are the park’s many predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs, and crocodiles hidden beneath the river’s surface.

You can observe the drama and the spectacle, taking a break with a picnic lunch down at the Mara River.

After a busy day exploring the great reserve, you’ll appreciate some downtime with a robust dinner at your lodging.

It’s our final day on safari so let’s rise with the sun and the wildlife to appreciate nature’s many wonders before us (Note no game viewing drive this last day morning if staying inside the reserve)

 

We’ll enjoy a relaxed safari breakfast back at our lodge or tented camp and dwell on all that we’ve seen over the past three days.

 

But now it’s time to hop into our 4 x 4 Jeep for an-enroute drive as we head to the airstrip and our flight back to Nairobi.

Your safari air taxi will be waiting at the airstrip and we’ll board for the scenic flight.

 

We should land at Wilson Airport in Nairobi at about 12:45 hrs. where you’ll be met by our personnel for transfer back to your hotel, residence, or place of your choosing.
