

Mara River lodge lies on the Mara River at the edge of Maasai Mara Game Reserve and overlooks deep pools where crocodiles and hippos bask all day.
Painted in traditional Maasai red ochre and lit by hundreds of lanterns, the lodge gives an immediate impression of the local surroundings. Guests are met by Maasai warriors in full regalia. The lodge is surrounded by indigenous trees and plants and it blending with the environment and combining the best of nature and unexpected wilderness comfort with some of the finest views in the Mara. Sekenani River Camp lies in a forested region that sees the source of the Sekenani River flow with life. The Masai Mara’s Sekenani Gate is only a short four miles away from the camp. The environment is tranquil and the main tented area is open and pristine. The dining area is set under a high, reeded roof with canvas walls, and a small sitting area is located in the main tent with bonfires and seating available on the verandah. The surrounding bush is lush and creates a perfectly intimate setting for the 15 secluded luxury tents, separated from the main public tent by a thrilling suspension bridge.
Guests can cool off in the inviting swimming pool, set among grass and trees or rest between game activities in the privacy of their tents on a small deck offering views of the surrounding wilderness. Guests can enjoy a beverage of their choice after their game drive or dinner or choose to gather around a crackling fire where they can discuss the day’s adventure. For those guests looking for that perfect local souvenir, a little gift shop is on-site too.
