We designed this fast two-day safari getaway for fun and value. Tsavo East National Park is a legend in East Africa – it was one of the first national parks and Kenya’s largest. It is home to leopard, buffalo, elephant, and some very fascinating lions – the males lack the traditional manes but are known for their ferocity.

You and your group from the beach will also be looking for cheetah, giraffe, impala, African wildcat, jackal, zebra, and monkey on your two days of game drives over Tsavo’s broad savannahs.

Your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver/guide will pick you up from your Diani Beach or area hotel and you’ll join other adventurous folks for this busy, value-added discovery tour of the big park.

So take a break from the sun and sand and hop aboard for sun and savannah… and lots of wildlife on this special two-day group safari. In just 2 ½ hours from the beach, you’ll be tracking big cats, elephants, and so much more.

Some Special Features

Did we mention that Tsavo East also surprises visitors with its hippos and crocodiles?  We’ll find them lounging in the park’s rivers, like the Galana, and we’ll also come upon Lugard’s Falls, a torrent cascading to the pools below.

Set atop the Voi River, we may stop at the Aruba Dam, a man-made dam that has created busy watering holes for the park’s thirsty wildlife.

Another perfect spot for animal viewing, especially the elephants is Mudanda Rock, a whale-shaped structure that forms a natural dam and pools that draw in the park’s wildlife.

Over our two days in the park, we’ll discover the many species of animals that have made Tsavo East the legend of East Africa.

All-Inclusive. Your 2-Day safari includes all ground transportation, accommodations, park entrance fees, game drives, all meals, and pickup/drop off at your Diani and south coast locations.

Accommodations are at your choice of Ashil Aruba Lodge, Sentrim Tsavo Camp, or Voi Wildlife Lodge.

Your Guide. You’ll be guided, hosted, and cared for by an expert and experienced driver/guide.

5:00 am – Time to leave the coast for the interior world of wildlife. Your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver/guide will pick you up along with your fellow travelers in a 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. And, you will each have your own window seat.

We’ll shoot down the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway and bathe in the soft warm light of the African dawn.

It won’t take long to reach the broad rugged plains of Tsavo East with the promise of all their wildlife treasures.

We’ll take lunch at our accommodation and head out for more game drives.

You might be startled to see some of the big tusker elephants sporting a coat of rosy dust, a sort of makeover. They’ve recently been rolling in the park’s red-oxide soil to clean and cool off. The result of which is the layer of rouge that dresses up their huge flanks.

Toward late afternoon, we’ll head to our accommodation to relax, enjoy dinner, and swap stories of our first day on safari

Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch

Tsavo East – Diani Beach (120 km. – Approx. 2 ½ hours)

Let’s get up early to make the most of this busy safari day. We’ll take an early game drive to discover the animals stepping from the night into the morning light. Then we’ll head back to our accommodation for a big breakfast.

We’ve got time for more animal sightings and your guide knows all the good spots to find elephants, giraffes, zebra, cheetahs, and lions.

Lunch follows at an open-air restaurant with expansive views of the park.

Then it’s time for another game drive and perhaps you and your group have some areas in mind you’d like to revisit – just talk to your guide.

Soon it’s time to head back to Diani and the coast. We’ll get you back to your hotel by dinnertime.
