Nestled below the Aitong Hills in the Olchoro Oirowua Conservancy you will find the classic and premium safari accommodation of the Fairmont Mara Safari Club. There are 38 Masaai-inspired safari suites, beautifully decorated and privately positioned on the grounds. There is a refreshing swimming pool set within stone paving and secluded among trees and a tranquil spa set within the bush.
Meals are served in the Kifaru Restaurant, an international menu offered and created with ingredients picked from the garden. Bush dinners are popular at Fairmont Mara Safari Club with a lounge and bar offering wonderful Mara River views and entertainment by way of Masaai cultural shows which occasionally take place. The setting of the camp makes it a wonderful venue for wedding ceremonies.

The Fairmont Mara Safari Camp is located in the northwest corner of the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve in the Aitong region of Ol Choro Conservancy. The most convenient way of getting to the camp from Nairobi is with a 45-minute flight from Wilson Airport, with a 10-minute transfer through the wilderness between the airstrip and the camp. If guests wish to drive from Nairobi, the drive would take approximately five hours.
The beautifully-appointed 38 luxury canvas tents are privately situated at Fairmont Mara Safari Camp, all decorated with a blend of Colonial and local Masai flare. Some tents have large chests complemented by beaded drapes separating the bathroom from the bedroom, others have a vibrant, signature orange wall that stands out against the beige and white of the bedding. The tents can be configured into Queen Beds or Twin Beds with one of the tents handicap accessible.
There is an in-room safe, WiFi, a minibar and a fridge in each tent, with a table and chairs set out on the large, wooden deck. The bathrooms are all en-suite and offer either a bathtub or a wonderful rain shower, with the camp’s Signature Tents offering a private outdoor shower.
Game drives in the incredible Masai Mara are a key activity when staying at Fairmont Mara Safari Camp, the early morning and late afternoon providing the best time to embark on a safari on the savannahs and bushlands of the Masai Mara. Guided walks can be arranged with qualified guides who take you on an adventure of a different kind as you notice and learn about the flora, fauna and smaller wildlife on the Reserve.
Hot air balloons are a popular activity with guests staying at the Fairmont Mara Safari Camp. There are over 500 species of birds for bird lovers to look out for and for something a little different, fishing safaris are available as well as bike safaris in specific areas. Guests may choose to visit the nearby Ol Choro Conservancy Rhino Sanctuary or a local Masaai Village to learn more about local traditions and culture.
