The popular and wonderful Mara North Conservancy is home to the Kicheche Mara Camp, a luxury camp that invites guests to embark on an unforgettable safari experience. This eco-conscious camp is one of the first to conduct safaris in an electric safari vehicle, with zero emissions helping to sustain the environment. The main area has a dining tent where tasty meals are prepared and served with an option to dine outside under a shady Euclea Tree.
The Camp Lounge offers amazing views over the valley. There is a small library and a few board games. Guests can purchase souvenirs and crafts in this area, too. 10 Luxury tents are laid out along the banks of a stream so thirsty wildlife is sometimes seen not too far from the accommodation. Being in a conservancy, animals are often seen roaming through the Camp.
Kicheche Mara Camp is located within the Mara North Conservancy in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara North Airstrip is the closest airstrip to the Camp with guests taking a 45-minute flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. From here, guests are driven to the Camp located around 20 minutes away. Driving from Nairobi will take around five hours.
10 beautifully decorated, spacious and luxurious Tents offer guests a secluded and intimate stay in the African bush. A furnished, private verandah is the perfect place for guests to sit, unwind and enjoy the views overlooking the Olare Orok stream.
Tents can be made up as a Double, Triple or Quad with a Family Suite offering two separate bedrooms, both en-suite and comprising a shower, basin and toilet. All accommodation, like the public areas, offers electricity powered by solar. Guests looking for a night out in the bush should consider staying in the Kicheche Mara Camp’s ‘Fly Camp’, an opportunity to sleep out under the stars and connect with nature on a different level.
Morning and afternoon game drives in 4×4 safari vehicles are the best way for guests staying at the Kicheche Mara Camp to capture the wonder of the surrounding savannah as they embark on a safari adventure. Walking safaris are a brilliant way to get close to the smaller wildlife, flora and fauna in the Masai Mara.
Embarking on a Hot Air Balloon ride will give guests a birds-eye view over the wilderness. The cultural village visit will give visitors an insight into the rich traditions of Maasai life.
