

The Silver Palm Spa and Resort is set on a private beach in the Kilifi region of Kenya’s east coastline and offers a classic, boutique-feel accommodation resort stay. The Silver Palm Spa and Resort is located in Mnarani in the Kilifi region of Kenya’s eastern coastline. Mombasa’s Moi International Airport is located just over one hour and forty-five minutes away and Malindi Airport is a one-hour drive away.
The accommodation at Silver Palm Spa and Resort comprises 38 units that range from rooms to suites. 24 Executive Rooms are around 600 sq feet and can be set up with either double or twin beds. There is a sitting room and a private balcony. The six Deluxe Suites are 950 sq feet in size and comprise one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a sitting area in the bedroom as well as a lounge area that opens out to a balcony and private swimming pool.
There are six Swim-Up Suites on the ground floor, opening up to a private section of the swimming pool. These popular rooms are 950 sq feet in size and offer queen-size beds with views of the surrounding gardens and ocean beyond that. The two Premier Suites have king or queen-size beds and are an impressive 1740 sq feet with two large bedrooms, both en-suite and a sitting area in each one. There is a separate lounge area with a bar and stools, a private balcony, and a private swimming pool.
Each room is tastefully decorated with classic furniture set on the tiled floors, neutral colors with splashes of color decorate the rooms. There is air-conditioning, a small desk and chair with a small fridge plus a safe for guests to store their valuables during their stay. There are tea/coffee-making facilities and clothing cupboards. 24-hour room service, WiFi plus a mini-bar are present in the suites. All rooms are en-suite and offer a shower or bath & shower, with vanity, toilet, and bathroom amenities for guests’ use during their stay.
Guests staying at the Silver Palms Spa and Resort have an array of watersports to choose from, including scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, and deep-sea fishing. Those looking to keep things land-based, can enjoy a game of beach volleyball, enjoy beach walks, or spend time at the resort playing billiards, darts, or tennis. The best times to visit Tanzania are December through March or June through October during the dry seasons, when the game viewing is at its best. The Great Migration is a wildlife spectacle, sometimes called The Greatest Show on Earth by safari enthusiasts, during which hundreds of wildebeest and other mammals head towards greener grazing pastures during East Africa's dry season. It is heavily dependent on the weather, specifically the rain which brings new vegetation upon which the wildebeest feed. Generally-speaking, herds are in the Serengeti from November to May. In May, as the grass dries up, herds begin the 500-mile migration north and by June they are in the greener plains of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. They usually stay here until October. From January on, they alternate between woodlands and plains, depending on the weather. In anticipation of the short rains—and the greener grasslands that come with it—the herds begin their trek down to the Serengeti. In November and December, they arrive to a flourishing green landscape where they stay until the cycle begins again.
The best time to go gorilla trekking in Uganda is during the dry season (December– February and June - August) when conditions are especially good for trekking to view mountain gorillas. Game drives in the national parks are also fruitful during this time.
Wear neutral colored, lightweight clothing on your Uganda safari. Dress in layers and bring a warm sweater for morning and nighttime game drives. For gorilla trekking, bring a waterproof rain jacket, hiking boots, long socks, hiking pants, bug repellant, and a daypack.
