Africa’s Big Five. Lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. Plus, hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras and hundreds of bird species. This is the Kenya you’ve read about and seen on TV. So, leave the beach for a few days and join us on an adventure you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll journey to three of the finest national parks to witness the wildlife, savor dramatic landscapes and meet the local tribal people. This medium-length tour is an immersive yet relaxing introduction to the wonders of Kenya.
You’ll begin your safari at Tsavo West National Park, a striking mix of savannah, rolling hills and every sort of wildlife this country has to offer. There’s even a special rhino sanctuary to protect this endangered species. At Mzima Springs, expect to get close to the hippos, fish and birdlife.
But we’ll spend most of our time at renowned Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s largest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Known as the best place in Africa, if not the world for viewing free-ranging elephants, you are guaranteed to see stately herds of the great pachyderms parading before fields of acacia trees, with great Kilimanjaro as a photographic backdrop.
Our safari finishes at Tsavo East National Park, home to elephants, lions, giraffe, impala, lots of rugged terrain and active watering holes. The game drives here will cover plenty of territory to discover the park’s active and colourful wildlife. And should you have any preferences – more safari or more relaxing time – just let us know. At Natural World Kenya Safaris, we want your adventure to be perfect.
All-Inclusive. Your 5-day trip to Tsavo West/Amboseli/Tsavo East safari includes park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations and meals. Natural World Kenya Safaris always offers a choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.
Your Guide. For your 5-day Tsavo West/Amboseli/Tsavo East journey you’ll be guided, hosted and looked after by your own experienced driver/guide.
Transportation to the park and game viewing will be in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is the safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive.

Tsavo West - Amboseli - Tsavo East 5 Day Tour Itinerary
Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Kenya coast beach resort or hotel in a 4 x 4 Jeep for your safari journey. We’ll take the Malindi-Mariakani-Mombasa Road to Tsavo West.
The approximately 4-5-hour drive will be smooth sailing on a finished tarmac road with refreshment stops along the way.
The landscape at Tsavo West will impress you with its gold plains, green hills and almost endless blue sky. Passing volcanic lava beds and outrageous baobab trees, you’ll know you’ve arrived at someplace special.
The park hosts all the Big Five and we’ll rumble over these savannahs tracking the animal life around us. Look for lion and leopard in the rough foliage but also giraffe above, nibbling at the treetops.
We’ll visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary and try our luck searching for some of the 80 or so protected rhinos here.
On this first night of our safari, we’ll relax at the safari lodge or tented camp or your choice
What you may see at Tsavo west national park ………
Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Wild dogs, Lesser Kudu, Hyrax, Rhino, porcupine and prolific birdlife featuring over 600 species.
Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Safari time means early mornings so we can appreciate the breaking light over the plains and be ready to view the wildlife as it emerges into the new day.
On our game drives, we’ll head over to the lush and crystal clear Mzima Springs, a natural oasis fed by millions of gallons of underground water. We’ll be able to explore on foot, treading the green carpet of vegetation by the clear waters. Here we’ll find hippos and crocodiles, exotic fish and unusual birds.
Then it’s time to head to our next park, Amboseli. It’s a fairly short trip to Amboseli and since we’ll be here for a few days we can relax, take it easy and enjoy the picture-perfect presence of mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro overlooking the reserve.
Because the park’s foliage is sparse, our wildlife track is made easier and we’re guaranteed to spot plenty of elephants as well as many or perhaps all the Big Five.
Toward evening we’ll head to our accommodation for dinner and to relax. At this time of day we may get a glimpse of the cloud cover drifting from Kilimanjaro, revealing its snowy summit. This is a photographer’s dream and the stuff of lasting memories for all lucky enough to be here.
We’ll spend two nights here at Amboseli.
What you may see at Amboseli National park ……..
Vast Elephant herds, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Kudu
Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
FULL DAY OF GAME VIEWING AT AMBOSELI
We’ll be up early to take another peek at Kilimanjaro’s summit and then we’re off on a game drive to see what the morning will bring to us.
Our early morning drive will be followed by a big, safari breakfast. Riding the hills and plains here certainly increases one’s appetite!
Then we’ll take off on a mid-morning game drive, looking for all kinds of wildlife. The park also hosts smaller mammals such as fox, hyena, monkey and yellow baboon.
We’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at our accommodation. Take as much time as you need to relax and soak up the environment.
When you’re ready we’ll head out for an afternoon drive, appreciating the great mountain and the numerous wildlife beneath its protective gaze.
If you’d like to add a unique experience to your safari, take advantage of an optional visit to the nearby Masai village. Here you’ll meet the Maasai people and learn, first-hand about their pastoral lifestyle. Your driver/guide will be happy to make the arrangements.
We’ll spend the second night here, at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
We’ll be up early for our last chance to view Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak and enjoy the day’s first light upon the park. Besides elephants the reserve also enjoys sightings of lions, cheetahs, hyenas, plus zebras and wildebeests. So be on the lookout this morning to see who you can spot.
Soon, we’re ready for breakfast and then it’s time to leave the park, as we hop onto the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
We’ll reach the great expanse of Tsavo East in the afternoon. This is a big park – the largest in Kenya and it boasts lots of big game. It’s also the place of legend, where ferocious lions roam and that’s who we’ll be tracking. But there will also be plenty of time to relax as well. As always, it’s your choice of how to spend your time.
Your guide will expertly track for the best spots to find and view the animals as we end the day with an African sunset over the park.
This is our final safari night and we’ll spend it here in the park at your choice of lodge or tented camp.
What you may see at Tsavo East national park ……….
Larger mammals, Vast herds of dust-red Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo Lion, Leopard, Hippo, Crocodile, Waterbucks, Kudu, Gerenuk & Hirola
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
By now we are experienced safari-goers and early risers! On our dawn game drive, we’ll be looking for elephant, lion, cheetah, and whomever we can spot on the plains and at the park’s watering holes.
We’ll breakfast and then enjoy a final safari amongst Tsavo’s wild and rugged terrain. The park’s limitless horizon is always a joy to appreciate and fix within our memory.
Finally, lunch will be served at an open-air restaurant with massive vistas of the east Tsavo plains.
We’ll take an easy drive back to the Kenya coast and your Watamu/Malindi beach resort. On the drive back, you can recollect all you’ve seen and experienced on your safari. Your driver/guide is sure to add to the discussion,
You should arrive at your hotel or resort in the late afternoon or early evening.
We hope your 5-day safari adventure was even better than you imagined. For all of us at Natural World Kenya Safaris, a big thanks for letting us show you the best of Kenya!
