So, join us on this 5-day medium-length safari where you’ll be close to the land and the wonders of the natural world.
Tsavo East National Park is so sprawling you’ll easily fall into its timeless rhythms where the wildlife suddenly appears as if to remind one of the eternal cycles of this land. You’ll be looking for great herds of elephants plus lion, buffalo, eland, impala, and giraffe. Sister park Tsavo West National Park offers a variety of colours and contours with rhinos and the other Big Five on its vast hills and plains. Expect to find treats here like Mzima Springs, a verdant oasis where the park’s animals gather at its crystalline waters.
Picture a wild game reserve in Africa and you’re probably imagining Amboseli National Park, framed by snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, accented with iconic acacia trees and perfected with robust herds of elephants proudly marching by. Amboseli is not just a gift to photographers, it’s also a safari-goer’s paradise with its rich array of large game like lion, cheetah, buffalo, and giraffe.

5 Day Tsavo East - Tsavo West & Amboseli Safari Itinerary
Meal plan:Breakfast,lunch,dinner
06:00 hrs. Your driver/guide will pick up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport or Nairobi area residence and head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep for Tsavo East.
We’ll take the Nairobi/Mombasa highway, stopping to stretch and get refreshments along the way.
Entering Tsavo East, you’ll appreciate the vast stretches of land and sky before you. It’s time to set out on our first game drive.
This is a rugged park with a rusty colored soil the big elephants like to roll in. They may even entertain you marching by with their proud, red dusted coats.
We’ll head to our accommodation for lunch and perhaps some relaxing time. Then, it’s back into the 4 x 4 and more tracking of giraffe, impala and of course, lion.
As a final flourish to our first safari day, we’ll be treated to the first of several blazing African sunsets.
Tonight, we’ll stay in Tsavo East, at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal plan:Breakfast,lunch,dinner
Welcome to safari life where we rise before the sun to watch the park come alive and head out on our first game drive. The park is peaceful at this time of day and we’ll be listening and looking for the first signs of emerging wildlife.
We’ll enjoy breakfast at our accommodation and take one more game drive as we depart for Tsavo West.
This next park is pleasing to the eye with its scenic hills and valleys, oases, and surprises like ancient baobab trees.
There’s plenty of the big game here like lion and rhino. We’ll proceed to the Nguila Rhino Sanctuary which harbors over 80 of these fascinating creatures
We’ll spend our second safari night at Tsavo West at your choice of lodge or tented camp.
Meal plan:Breakfast,lunch,dinner
We’ll be up with the birdsong and ready for the sights the natural world will bring us in this new dawning day.
An early game drive brings us into the first rays of sunlight as it lights up the savannah and the park’s awakening inhabitants.
Let’s head over to one of Tsavo West’s treasures, Mzima Springs, a rich, green oasis. In this lush setting, we’ll find hippo, crocodile, exotic fish and birds. We can walk here, under the palm-fringed shores and take in the park’s other wildlife, attracted to these life-giving waters.
Now it’s time to take the short trip to Amboseli Park.
Just look for the sky-scraping peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro as our beacon to the park.
We’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch and perhaps some free time at our accommodation before heading out to discover the wilds of Amboseli.
There is a rich assortment of game to discover on these plains and we’ll be looking for all of Africa’s Big Five.
With Kilimanjaro posing in the background, you’ll be tempted to take lots of photos and why not? This what it’s all about.
Toward evening you may even get better views of the great mountain’s snow-encrusted peak as the cloud covering often burns away, revealing one of the world’s most enchanting sights.
We’ll spend the first of two nights at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
We have prepared a full day of game drives at Amboseli to see the big game, especially the elephants.
The park is famous for being the best spot in Africa to spot the great herds as they march family-style to their favorite watering holes. See how many you can count.
Observation Hill is a wonderful vantage point to observe the wildlife in the marshes below, like buffalo, hippo, pelican, and other waterfowl.
Along with your many game drives you can take advantage of an optional visit we offer to a nearby Masai Village. Meet the tribespeople and learn about their lifestyle up close. Your driver/guide can make all the arrangements.
We’ll spend your final night at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
Let’s finish our safari with a bang… up before dawn and out on the savannah in our 4 x 4, searching for more wild game to add to our list, our photos, and our memories. Is there anything better than a safari?
As we enjoy our breakfast surrounded by the beauty of nature, check out Kilimanjaro to see if you can spot its snowy peak.
We’ll hop in the jeep for one final game drive and bid farewell to this wonderful park as we turn and head back to Nairobi.
We should arrive there at about 16:30 hrs. (4:30 pm).
We’ll bring you to your hotel, residence or the airport.
We promised you lots of elephants and wildlife, and we delivered, plus all kinds of unforgettable safari fun. Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. And when you are ready for your next adventure, please contact your team at Natural World Kenya Safaris. We are always standing by.
