3 tips to get the most out of your game drive
Natural World Kenya Safaris offer incredible wildlife viewing experiences that gives visitors the opportunity to see lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants and more. Our fantastic tour driver guides have compiled a list of the top 5 tips to help you to make the most of your game drive.
Stay inside the vehicle
Most of the animals you’ll see on your safari tour will be used to the sight of a land cruiser jeep 4×4 passing by. However, they aren’t used to seeing visitors out of their vehicle and could react aggressively towards you. Trying to move towards them can cause them unnecessary stress or put you in a very dangerous situation. Even some of the more passive animals can cause serious harm if they feel stressed or threatened.
Dress appropriately
There is a common misconception that you’ll be very hot on your game drive and you should therefore wear shorts etc. Game drives are usually all-day events to give you the best chance of seeing a wide range of animals so they start early and finish late. It can be quite chilly at these times so it’s best to bring a change of clothes so you can ensure you are appropriately dressed throughout the day. Sunscreen and insect repellent are also must-haves when it comes to game drives so that you reman comfortable throughout.
Talk to your tour guide
If you have any questions about the animals you’re seeing, the climate or history of the National Park you’re in, make sure to ask your tour guide! The Natural World Kenya Safaris tour guides are friendly, knowledgeable and able to provide interesting information on the wildlife and vegetation in the park. Ask them about their experiences working and living in Kenya or Tanzania and make sure to tip them if they do a fantastic job!
