Mount Kenya climbing expedition leaving from Nairobi Kenya.
The 4 nights,5 days Mount Kenya trek is via the scenic sirimon and exit through Chogoria route.
This creative climb joins two of the most famous routes up Mt. Kenya, Sirimon and Chogoria, producing a remarkably diverse and spectacular trek. Sirimon coming off the west passes through the dry side of the mountain with its giant trees and rocky terrain, and the descent onto the Chogoria path is exactly different with its lush bamboo and highland forests.
The final night time ascent of Lenana can be as difficult as any ascent in East Africa, but the rest of the trek is generally considered easier than either Kilimanjaro or the Ruwenzoris, and this is the most likely climb for actually seeing big game.
Transport to the mountain base is included from your Nairobi city hotel.
The bulk of the snow capped Mt. Kenya looms over the entire region of the central Kenya.
The mountain is part of the central highlands. It is the highest mountain in Kenya and in Africa after the Mt. Kilimanjaro.
For hikers, point Lenana at 4,895 m is the ultimate destination.
This is accessed from different routes depending on availability of time, budget restrains and climbing experience. The views en-route, the physical exertion and the rough climbing experience combine to bring out a well-deserved sense of accomplishment to the climbers.
We undertake Mt. Kenya climbing expeditions on all routes. Two of the most popular routes have been described here.
