Starts Nairobi/Ends Nairobi – We’ll pick you up from the International Airport, your hotel or residence and transfer to nearby Wilson Airport for your morning flight.

Fly or Drive? If your holiday time is limited and you want to get up close to the animals that much sooner, a fast, easy safari flight is the way to go. Leaving from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, you’ll be landing at Lewa in about 1 ½ hours. Compare this to the 5-hour overland drive.

When you touch down at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy you’ll quickly see you’ve come to a very special reserve. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lewa is a non-profit wildlife conservancy, known for its large population of black and white rhino. It also hosts the largest single population of Grevy’s zebra in the world – about 350.

A pastoral mix of plains, rolling hills and forest, Lewa began as a cattle ranch before becoming perhaps the premier wildlife watching conservancy in Kenya. Protecting its wildlife, especially its rhino population, is core to the conservancy’s mission.

On day 2 of your safari, you’ll head out before sunrise to catch early morning sightings of the park’s teeming wildlife. Africa’s famous Big Five roam these savannahs as well as giraffe, Somali ostrich, oryx and gerenuk. Look out for some of the 400 bird species that grace these fields and forests. It’s a wildlife spectacular… with stunning, snow-capped Mt. Kenya as your backdrop.

Your many game viewing drives are in customized pop top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeeps. These safe and comfortable safari vehicles are open sided for unobstructed views. And because you’re in a private conservancy, there’s an extra bonus. Unlike in National Parks, where off-road driving is prohibited, at Lewa your guide can take you off the beaten path to get even closer to the game.

In addition to your game drives, you’ll also have time to rest and take in northern Kenya’s scenic beauty, relaxing at your lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 3 will feature another early morning game drive before breakfast. And then one more final game drive on your way back to the airport. Again, it’s a short flight over Kenya’s scenic plains and forests, and in no time you’ll be back in Nairobi.
