14 DAYS, 13 NIGHTS:  MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – LAKE VICTORIA – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER – TARANGIRE-LAKE MANYARA – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK- TSAVO WEST – TSAVO EAST

Starts Nairobi/Ends Mombasa – We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Travel comfortably in your own pop-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.

Enjoy this amazing safari in a customized pop-up roof 4×4 Safari Jeep that includes: Cooler Box, long-range high-frequency radio, Power Outlets AC 230V, First Aid Kit, and above all, a professional multi-lingual safari guide who will ensure you have an unforgettable safari experience.

Want to experience East Africa’s great legacy parks? This two-week expedition will have you exploring the world-renowned Masai Mara, the magnificent Serengeti, and the legendary twin Tsavo reserves.

These are the landscapes that hold and preserve immense numbers of the big cats, the elephants, endangered rhinos, and millions upon millions of wildebeests and zebras.

Combined, these national treasures are the future of East Africa’s legacy of wild animals in our natural world – a heritage you can help protect while enjoying a deeply satisfying safari experience.

This special tour will also introduce you to the wonders of Lake Victoria, the many elephant families of Amboseli Park, and the sights of Tarangire and Lake Manyara Park, with its tree-climbing lions. Plus, the world’s largest intact volcanic crater, the unique Ngorongoro.

Imagine traveling to the lands of leopards, cheetahs, great tusker elephants, towering giraffes, and even blazing pink flamingoes. You’ll see the rolling hills of the Masai Mara, sprinkled with its remarkable acacia trees, the endless plains of the Serengeti, and the majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro towering above Amboseli Park.

On this immersive safari experience, the deep cultures of these two special African countries are inviting your discovery. Meet the indigenous Maasai, a pastoral people who live on the land, herding their goats and cattle as they have done for ages.

Ready to become a very experienced safari-goer? Let us introduce you to the magic and wonders of this immersive two-week African safari.

Let’s Begin Your Adventure

You’ll have plenty of time to explore each of these parks on this easy-paced journey. We will start our safari in style at the world-famous Masai Mara Reserve, home to great prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and more than 95 other mammal species.

It is also home to the Great Migration, the largest movement of animals on the planet. Up to two million wildebeests, zebra, and gazelle storm into the Mara, coming from the Serengeti, in their timeless quest for food and water. Waiting for them – all the park’s predators, from crocodiles to lions to cheetahs and hyenas.

We’ll next cross into Tanzania and come upon the world’s greatest tropical body of water. Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa and the second-largest freshwater lake at 68,000 sq km – bigger than some countries. The birdlife here, at this source of the Nile River, is rich, varied, and colorful.

Then we’ll visit the birthplace of all those marauding grazers at the Masai Mara, the great Serengeti Park. This is the home of over 3,000 lions and more than 7,000 elephants! And the wildebeest population here can number into the millions.

Deeper Into Tanzania

Our next stop will land us at the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet, the Ngorongoro Crater. This unique depression in the earth’s surface is home to over 25,000 animals, all living in a green world of woodlands, plains, and marshes. We’ll go down to the crater floor to discover lions, rhinos, wildebeests, eland, gazelle, pink flamingoes, and so much more.

Tarangire and Lake Manyara Parks are not as well known but that just means fewer tourists and more of the parks to yourself. Tarangire is home to its own small migration of about 250,000 animals. Lake Manyara is a jewel of a park with acacia trees adorning the pretty lake. And looking up above, you just might spot the park’s very unique tree-climbing lions.

We Journey Back to Kenya

On day ten, we’ll cross back to Kenya with the eye-pleasing vista of Mt. Kilimanjaro welcoming us. At the base of Africa’s tallest peak, we will come upon the active fields of Amboseli National Park, home to so many elephants that you are guaranteed to enjoy multiple sightings of these wonderful pachyderms.

Then we’re off to the legendary Tsavo Parks, east and west. Tsavo West holds many surprises like Mzima Springs, a verdant oasis filled with lush greenery and palm-lined shores teeming with hippos and crocodiles.

Sister park Tsavo East is home to another unique species of lions whose males have a ferocious reputation and also sport unusual short manes. The vast stretches here glisten with red oxide soil, in which the big elephants like to roll and give themselves a rouge makeover.

Sound like a busy two weeks? It will be and you’ll have the adventure of a lifetime so come join us!

All-Inclusive.

Your Two-Week Safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations, and meals. Natural World Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort, or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

NAIROBI – MASAI MARA RESERVE   (270 KM. APPROX. 5-6 HRS.)

Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner

07:00 hrs.  This is it. Your 14-day safari is about to begin. Your Natural World Kenya Safaris driver/guide will swing by your hotel, residence, or location of your choosing. Now it’s just one small step for mankind as you eagerly board your private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep to start this two-week adventure.

We will move down the highway, passing homesteads, farms, and the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

We should arrive at the park around lunchtime, so freshen up at your safari lodge or tented camp (your choice), fuel up, and get ready for your first game drive.

We can’t think of a better place to start your safari than on the acacia-dotted rolling hills of the Masai Mara, with its big cats and immense herds of grazers. You are experiencing one of the densest ecosystems in Africa.

We’ll spend our afternoon tracking for lions, elephants, and more in this world-famous reserve. And as the sun begins to drop to the horizon we’ll head to our accommodation to relax and enjoy dinner.

We will spend our first safari night at our Masai Mara lodge or tented camp.

FULL OF DAY OF GAME DRIVES AT MASAI MARA

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today you’ll get a full taste of the safari experience as you rumble over the hills and savannahs, tracking for elephants, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, and all the big cats for which the park is so well known.

If you’re here during the season of the Great Migration, (July – October) you’ll also witness the drama of uncountable wildebeests, zebra, and gazelle, storming over the Mara River on their annual pilgrimage for food and water. And always waiting for these infinite grazers are the crocodiles lurking in the river, plus the big cats prowling in the bush.

But the great park isn’t only about the wildlife – you can experience a cultural moment with the area’s original human inhabitants, the Maasai people. Take an optional visit to one of the local villages where you can meet the Maasai, learn about their lifestyle, and maybe even participate in their famous jumping dance.

For another special moment, we invite you to enjoy our optional sunrise hot air balloon safari over the park. Rise above the dawning savannahs and sail over the reserve to spot the wildlife from above. It’s a moment in time you’ll never forget.

Our second night at the Masai Mara will be at our safari lodge or tented camp.

MASAI MARA  – LAKE VICTORIA  (248 Km – Appx. 5-6 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Ready for one more game drive through the park? We’ll enjoy a final look as we exit the Mara on our way to Tanzania and Lake Victoria.

We will cross over the border at Isebania and head straight for the great lake. There, we’ll visit the communities that Victoria supports, visit a fishing village, and take a guided tour.

We’ll spend the evening at our Lake Victoria safari lodge or tented camp.

LAKE VICTORIA – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (214 Km – Appx. 6 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We may explore more the lake’s environs, visiting markets and meeting with the locals.

Then it’s time to head to Serengeti Park, one of the greatest reserves in the world, with its innumerable wildlife.

We should arrive in time for an afternoon game drive and it won’t be difficult to spot grazing, prowling, or flying wildlife in this vast reserve.

We’ll spend the evening at our Serengeti safari lodge or tented camp.

FULL DAY AT SERENGETI

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Like at the Masai Mara, this will be a day of unlimited game drives. However, we should note, the choice is always yours as to how busy you want your safari to be. Just discuss with your driver/guide and he will be happy to accommodate you.

The Serengeti is home to thousands of lions, leopards, elephants and literally millions of wildebeests. Over these vast sprawling fields you’ll also find zebra, giraffe, eland, impala, klipspringer, warthog, and even hippos.

If you should be here during the calving season (January – March) you’ll witness thousands upon thousands of newborn wildebeests, zebra, gazelle, and many other species in the vast fields of the park.

We’ll spend a second evening at our Serengeti safari lodge or tented camp.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO  (227 Km – Appx. 4-5 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Now it’s time to head to one of the singular wonders of Africa, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, site of the world’s largest whole volcanic crater.

But on the way, we’ll stop at Olduvai Gorge. This is believed to be the most significant paleo-archaeological site ever found. Here were discovered millions of years old fossilized human remains and tools – an invaluable record of early humankind’s development.

We will arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater’s rim to see before us a blue-green basin stretching out below, a world apart from the rest of Africa. This very unique ecosystem is home to over 25,000 animals.

We’ll be sure to enjoy one of the crater’s signature sunsets before heading to our accommodation.

We will spend the night at our Ngorongoro safari lodge or tented camp.

FULL DAY AT NGORONGORO CRATER

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This will be a most unusual safari day. We’ll head down the crater’s steep walls in our 4 x 4 Jeep, arriving in a universe of big cats, rhino, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, hippos, and pink flamingoes, cut off from the rest of Africa.

We’ll enjoy our lunch at a scenic viewing spot and continue exploring the verdant stretches of this heavily populated wildlife paradise.

As the afternoon begins to fade, we’ll ascend back up the crater’s walls to arrive at the rim to enjoy another unforgettable sunset.

We will spend the second night at our Ngorongoro safari lodge or tented camp.

NGORONGORO  – LAKE MANYARA PARK (75 Km – Appx. 2 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Did you enjoy last night’s sunset? If we get up early enough we can enjoy an equally memorable sunrise near the top of the crater.

But now it’s time to visit some of Tanzania’s special but oft-overlooked parks.

It won’t take us long to arrive at pretty Lake Manyara Park.

The deep blue lake dominates most of the park’s acreage where you’ll find a carpet of bright pink flamingoes taking up residence on the shoreline, enjoying the lake’s alkaline waters.

We’ll look for other birdlife around the lake such as egrets, spoonbill, and heron.

Africa’s distinctive acacia trees decorate the park and you may spot all manner of wildlife including Manyara’s very unique tree-climbing lions on those branches overhead.

Also, be on the lookout for the park’s many baboons, announcing themselves with their distinctive howls.

We will spend the night at our Lake Manyara safari lodge or tented camp.

LAKE MANYARA PARK – TARANGIRE PARK (128 Km – Appx. 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll take a final drive around the park to view the busy wildlife and its colorful birdlife, adorning the lake.

Now, we’re off to Tarangire Park – a reserve that’s long on wildlife and fairly empty of tourists.

Of course you know about the Great Migration, linking the Serengeti and Masai Mara but Tarangire Park has its own smaller migration. Expect to see every manner of wildlife: ostriches, warthogs, impalas, lions, leopards, and lots of elephants.

The park is also known for its bizarre baobab trees, an incredible species with a mishappen trunk that appears as if it was planted upside down.

We will spend the night at our Tarangire safari lodge or tented camp.

TARANGIRE – AMBOSELI PARK (255 Km – Appx. 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we will return to Kenya and head to its second most popular reserve, Amboseli Park, resting near the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. On route, the snow-capped peak of the great peak will be our beacon, guiding us to the park.

Often called the “Land of the Giants”, Amboseli is home to a multitude of elephant families which you are guaranteed to see as they amble to their favorite feeding spots and watering holes.

The park hosts all the “big five”, so we’ll also be tracking for lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos during our stay here.

We will spend the first of two nights at our Amboseli lodge or tented camp.

FULL DAY OF SAFARI ACTION AT AMBOSELI

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As with the Masai Mara and Serengeti, this is a day of unlimited game drives. Explore as much as you wish.

Amboseli is a compact park which makes game spotting easier as the rangers are well-informed about where certain wildlife can be seen.

Besides the big game, we’ll undoubtedly discover some of the smaller species as they roam the park, like zebra, fox, monkey, baboon, and more. The reserve is also known for its variety and number of avian life – look for heron, falcon, eagle, and the Egyptian goose accenting the skies and the marshes here.

An ideal place to spot the animals and birdlife is on Observation Hill, an excellent vantage point that we’ll drive up to view the park’s wild inhabitants in all directions.

Toward evening, we may be lucky and the mists covering Kilimanjaro’s snowy summit could part revealing one of Africa’s most memorable sights.

We will spend a second night at our Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp.

AMBOSELI PARK – TSAVO WEST (109 Km – Appx. 2.5 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Together, the Tsavo parks are the largest and oldest of Kenya’s wildlife refuges. Tsavo West is known for its scenic landscapes of rolling hills and valleys.

We will have a good chance of seeing the endangered rhino here at the Nguila Rhino Sanctuary, the protective home to over 80 of these shy and unusual animals.

No visit to Tsavo West is complete without a stop at another of the park’s unique features, the lovely Mzima Springs. This unexpected oasis is a lush reprieve and we’ll step from our 4 x 4 Jeep to walk its palm-shrouded banks, taking in the exotic fish, birds, hippos, and even crocodiles nestling in its waters.

We will spend the evening at our Tsavo West safari lodge or tented camp.

TSAVO WEST – TSAVO EAST (60 km – Approx. 1 hr.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The deep horizons of Tsavo East’s vast plains will impress as we arrive at the great reserve. While here we’ll be looking for lion, elephant, buffalo, eland, impala, giraffe, as well as many of the smaller species.

Tsavo East’s lions have a legacy for their ferocity and exhibit unusually short manes, a curious evolutionary development you won’t find elsewhere.

While here, you may spot elephants with a rosy look to their hide. This is due to the park’s red-oxide soil, which the big tuskers like to roll in, thus giving themselves a rouge-like makeover!

As evening approaches, look for yet another spectacular African sunset.

We will spend our final safari evening at our Tsavo East safari lodge or tented camp.

TSAVO EAST – MOMBASA (209 Km – Appx. 3 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

It is our fourteenth and final day on safari. You’ve become experienced wildlife observers and now have a sense as to where to look to spot your favorites.

Let’s take another game drive through the park before heading to the Kenyan coast and the exciting city of Mombasa.

We should arrive there in the afternoon and we’ll bring you to the hotel, resort or another place of your choosing.

It went so fast, didn’t it? All those landscapes, the wildlife, and all the rich experiences that form an African safari adventure. We hope you were thrilled with our magnificent natural world.

Thank you for your time and your commitment to the safari way. We at Natural World Kenya Safaris, want to express our deepest acknowledgment and appreciation to you. We hope this isn’t goodbye, but for now… Asante! Thank you!
