10 DAYS, 9 NIGHTS: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Starts Nairobi/Ends Arusha – We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Begin your safari in the comfort of your own private 4 x 4 pop-top Land Cruiser Jeep.
The biggest animal migration on the planet. The highest concentration of wildlife anywhere. This Natural World Safaris’ 10-day adventure brings you up close to experience the biggest and best of Kenya and Tanzania Safaris.
From the natural wonder of the Masai Mara habitat with its thundering herds of wildebeest and zebra to the immense grasslands of the Serengeti populated with lion, leopard, elephant, and rhino, the spectacle of this safari will leave you in awe.
You’ll journey to the world’s largest intact volcanic crater and visit a realm of wildlife few ever get the chance to see. So get ready for 10 full days of discovery and wonder as we venture out to meet the best of East Africa.
We depart Nairobi for Amboseli National Park, where inspiring views of Mt. Kilimanjaro await, especially when the clouds clear revealing the snow-capped dome of Africa’s highest peak. The park is the best spot on the continent to view great herds of elephants. And like any self-respecting Kenyan reserve, there are lion, cheetah, giraffe, and zebra to fill out your day and to begin this amazing adventure.
Next, we’ll move to the azure waters of Lake Naivasha National Park, a pretty reserve where we’ll enjoy a sailing safari, gliding past the hippos.
Then, it’s on to the great savannahs of the Masai Mara Reserve. This world-famous habitat is known for spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, black rhino, buffalo, and elephant. On these rolling plains, accented with their signature acacia trees, you’ll be greeted by these and the dozens of other species populating the vast Mara.
You’ll embark on unlimited game drives here. A highlight – a picnic lunch at the Mara River as you watch hippos and possibly crocodiles enjoy their lunch!
Then we cross the border to Tanzania and travel to perhaps the most populated wildlife refuge in the world, Serengeti National Park. You’ve seen its sweeping panoramas in movies – now’s your time to encounter this immense world-famous park. The treeless plains hold millions of wildebeest, zebra, eland, and, of course, the larger predators like lion, leopard, rhino, and elephant.
On your game drives here you’ll also encounter gazelle, impala, waterbuck, klipspringer, plus monkey and baboon. These are the lands where the wildlife of the great migration first stir – you’ll be awed by their numbers.
Ngorongoro Crater is a wildlife habitat unto itself. Buckle up because you’re going to descend in your 4 x 4 to the crater floor and witness the incredible concentration of game that makes their home in this extinct volcano. There’s a high concentration of lions here as well as other large animals like the black rhino, Cape buffalo and hippo. And be on the lookout for zebra, eland, and gazelle in this abundant ecosystem.
In the late afternoon, we’ll head back up the crater to catch an unforgettable sunset view… only to be matched the following morning with an equally spectacular sunrise at the rim.
Now we head to our last stop in Tanzania, a compact but impressive place of towering baobab trees, lion, and zebra – Tarangire National Park. You’ll have opportunities to view elephants on the plains and something you might not encounter anywhere else – an abundance of huge termite mounds. They’re big, bizarre, and very photogenic!
Finally, we’ll wrap up our ten-day adventure in the Tanzanian town of Arusha, bringing you to your hotel or the airport. Ten exciting days in East Africa’s two best countries for wildlife spotting. Ready to join us?
All-Inclusive. Your 10-Day safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations, and meals.

07:00 hrs. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport, or Nairobi area residence.
Get ready to head out on your two-week journey in your private 4 x 4 Jeep for Amboseli National Park on the Nairobi – Mombasa Highway.
On our way to the park, we’ll be passing local farms. Keep an eye out for Maasai herdsmen – they’re easy to spot in their colorful wraps tending to their cattle.
As we approach Amboseli, you’ll see the imposing form of Mt. Kilimanjaro rising in the distance, guiding our way to the park.
Time to check in at our lodge or tented camp, freshen up and enjoy a hearty lunch – our first safari meal.
Let’s start the first of our many game drives. Most likely you’ll spot the park’s famous elephant families, marching to their favorite watering hole.
Toward evening we’ll return to our accommodation but keep an eye on Kilimanjaro. The characteristic clouds covering its peak may part, revealing its snow-capped grandeur.
Now it’s time for dinner and a chance to recap all you’ve seen on your first safari day.
We’ll spend the first of two nights at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
As you’ll quickly discover, we like to get up early on while on safari – it’s the most peaceful time of the day when the gentle morning light softly plays on the fields and the wildlife edges out looking for its breakfast.
We’ll enjoy our breakfast and then set off in our 4 x 4, exploring for more elephants but also lions, cheetah, fox, monkey, baboon, zebra, and more.
Amboseli is known for its profuse and varied birdlife. Your guide will be looking to spot egrets, crake, heron, falcon, eagle, and Egyptian goose by the lakes and marshes, dotting the park.
We might take a drive up Observation Hill, step out from our 4 x 4 and look about the park for buffalo, hippo, pelican, and of course, the many elephants throughout the park.
As the sun’s light begins to fade, we’ll turn again to great Kilimanjaro to look for its snowy summit peaking out from the clouds.
You’ll spend your second night at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Our 4 x 4 will next take us to lovely Lake Naivasha, a freshwater retreat with surrounding green lands harboring antelope, zebra, and more.
Want to go on a bicycling safari? Nearby Hell’s Gate Park offers the chance to do just that! Pedal past zebra, giraffe, and antelope for a very unique perspective as they graze just feet away.
We’ll spend the night at the Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Let’s begin our day with a fun boating safari over the lake’s smooth waters, gliding by curious hippos as we take in the grazing impala and buffalo on the shore.
Then, we’ll head out for Kenya’s most popular park, the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
After we arrive at the park, we should have time for an afternoon game drive. You’ll get a feel for this green sprawling park, adorned with Africa’s distinctive acacia trees.
The Mara is a busy ecosystem, one of the richest in East Africa. During your time here don’t be surprised to see great numbers of wildlife in a variety not experienced elsewhere.
We’ll spend the next two nights at the Masai Mara at our safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today shall be a game viewing extravaganza!
The Mara as is popularly known remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world.
It is host to the highest and varied concentration of wild animals than any other park in the region.
The scenic appeal of this tree studded savannah plains, its moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities.
We shall traverse the reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game.
You shall enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration (July –October)
Overnight shall be at your Maasai Mara safari lodge/ tented camp
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Let’s enjoy one more game drive through this bountiful reserve before we cross the border into Tanzania to visit another world-class park, Serengeti National Park.
Remember all those wildebeests and zebra herding into the Masai Mara? This is the park from which they came, searching for taller grasses and water for their survival.
The Serengeti is immense with boundless wildlife, big cats and elephants by the thousands, and grazers… up to several million.
We will have many opportunities to view this wildlife over our three days in this immense park.
We’ll spend the next two nights at Serengeti at our safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
A full day game viewing drive as we explore this vast nature endowed wildlife reserve.
Options of morning and afternoon or full day game viewing sessions are available to you.
The annual wildebeest migration is Serengeti’s most famous attraction.
It is also home to a pride of its lions which have been fitted with radio-transmitter collars so that their movements may be tracked.
Other wildlife you may see includes cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thompson and Grant’s gazelle, Eland, Impala, Klipspringer, Hippo and Warthog.
Overnight at your Serengeti Safari lodge or tented camp.
SERENGETI – NGORONGORO CRATER (180 KMS: 3-4 HOURS)
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Depart the Serengeti with a game viewing drive en-route.
Descend to the floor of the crater for game viewing in this unique caldera park.
We shall look out for Rhino, Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo and Hippo.
Later we ascend to the crater rim.
Catch a glimpse of the most magnificent sunset views in Africa from the crater rim!
Overnight at your Ngorongoro crater safari lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
You will enjoy this lightly touristed park as it is short on other safari-goers and long on wildlife. This park even has its own smaller migration – about 250,000 animals. Look for lions, leopards, elephants, impalas, warthogs, ostriches, and lots more.
And during your game drives here you can’t miss the park’s famous baobab trees – a highly unusual species with an inverted trunk and wild branches that resemble a root structure. The poor tree appears like it was planted upside down.
We will spend our final safari night at our Tarangire lodge or tented camp.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
Hard to believe but it’s our final day on safari. One more game drive around the park and then we’re headed to the Tanzanian town of Arusha. There, your driver/guide will bring you to your hotel, the airport, or another place of your choosing.
