Daily Private Safari Tour by 4x4 jeep

14 DAYS, 13 NIGHTS:  AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK- ABERDARE PARK – SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY – LAKE NAIVASHA NATIONAL PARK – MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER – TARANGIRE OR LAKE MANYARA PARK

Starts Nairobi/Ends Arusha – We’ll pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Travel comfortably in your own pop-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep.

Enjoy this amazing safari in a customized pop-up roof 4×4 Safari Jeep that includes: Cooler Box, long-range high-frequency radio, Power Outlets AC 230V, First Aid Kit, and above all, a professional multi-lingual safari guide who will ensure you have an unforgettable safari experience.

Two full weeks of safari adventure! From the northern reaches of the Kenya highlands to its great southern parks; from the immense Tanzanian savannahs and onto its lush forests, this 14-day exploration will land you up close to every ecosystem in the region and the incredible variety of its stunning wildlife.

Great parades of elephants, startling prides of lions and leopards, unending herds of migrating wildebeests, giant forest antelope, uncountable pink flamingoes, endangered rhinos, chimps, and even unbelievable tree-climbing lions will be your daily experience.

On this special in-depth expedition, you will have opportunities to meet and learn about the indigenous peoples of these lands and their rich ancient cultures. For two weeks, you’ll enjoy an immersive experience of Africa with all its colors, sounds, light, and scents that you will treasure for years to come.

You’ve heard the names: Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro…. now get ready to explore these and so many other magical places, as they become a part of your life.

Your Journey’s First Step

This will be a comprehensive yet comfortably-paced adventure. In no time, you’ll be feeling like an experienced safari adventurer. Our first stop will be Amboseli Park, one of Kenya’s most popular reserves. Seated near the foot of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, the park is home to a great many tusker elephants – so many, you’re guaranteed sightings. And this compact park often serves up sightings of lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and exotic bird life as well.

Turning north, your African safari will bring you to one of the most unusual parks in the region. Aberdare National Park is an up-country reserve, with rich forests, mountain streams, rainforests, and waterfalls. Plus, you’ll stay in an elevated “tree hotel” where you can spot antelope, buffalo, elephants, and more.

Our next park is a contrast with its dry, broad fields. Samburu National Reserve features plenty of lions but also a variety of unusual species like the Somali ostrich, oryx, and reticulated giraffe out on its rugged landscape.

On our way to the private reserve of Ol Pejeta Conservancy, we’ll view Mt. Kenya, Africa’s second-largest tallest peak. Ol Pejeta not only harbors Africa’s “Big Five” – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino but also features a sanctuary for chimpanzees – the only place in Kenya you can see them in a natural setting.

Lake Naivasha National Park is next and what could be more appropriate for a lake park than a water safari? You’ll glide by hippos while on the nearby shore giraffe and zebra look up from their grazing. And if you’d like to try out a bicycle safari, we can take an optional visit to nearby Hell’s Gate National Park.

The Great Legacy Parks

Now we’ll turn south to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, home to great prides of big cats and the breathtaking spectacle of the Great Migration. In season, July – October, prepare to witness thousands upon thousands of wildebeests, gazelles, and zebra crossing the Mara River into the park on their timeless search for sustenance and survival.

The rolling grasslands here are home to an astounding variety of wildlife – giraffe, monkey, baboon, hyena, cheetah, and hundreds of colorful bird species fill the sky above.

Then, across the Mara, lies another of the region’s major reserves – the great Serengeti National Park, home to literally millions of wildlife creatures. Over 3,000 lions, millions of wildebeests, and zebra, plus buffalo, waterbuck, and crocodile fill the vast reaches of this magnificent park.

We next move on to one of the most unique land structures on the planet, the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth but what makes it so special is this great land bowl is an ecosystem unto itself, holding vast numbers of lion, buffalo, rhino, wildebeest, zebra, eland, gazelle, and even pink flamingoes! We will descend the steep crater walls to spend an amazing day in this very unique universe of wildlife.

Tarangire Or Lake Manyara Parks

You may not have heard of Tarangire Park but that just makes it more special, as this is a lightly-touristed park but there’s no shortage of wildlife – it even has its own migration of hundreds of thousands of animals.

What other park can you visit that hosts both brilliant pink flamingoes and tree-climbing lions? And is pretty as a picture as well? Lake Manyara Park checks all the boxes for scenic beauty, rare wildlife, and fascinating avian life. Plus, you’ll find monkeys, baboons, and all sorts of species in this fascinating reserve.

All-Inclusive.

Your Two-Week Safari includes park entrance fees, accommodations, and meals. Natural World Safaris always offers a wide choice of accommodations. Depending on your budget and style choose from economy, comfort or luxury safari lodges or tented camps.

Your Guide.

For your entire 14-day journey you’ll be guided, hosted and looked after by your own experienced driver/guide.

Transportation to the park and game viewing will be in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep – this vehicle is the safari standard with its higher seating and rugged all-wheel drive. Always included on our tours, the Land Cruiser Jeep is just another example of the value we offer you at Natural World Kenya Safaris.

NAIROBI – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK   (250 KM. APPROX. 3 – 4 HRS.)

Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner

07:00 hrs.  Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport, or Nairobi area residence.

Get ready to head out on your two-week journey in your private 4 x 4 Jeep for Amboseli National Park on the Nairobi – Mombasa Highway.

On our way to the park, we’ll be passing local farms. Keep an eye out for Maasai herdsmen – they’re easy to spot in their colorful wraps tending to their cattle.

As we approach Amboseli, you’ll see the imposing form of Mt. Kilimanjaro rising in the distance, guiding our way to the park.

Time to check in at our lodge or tented camp, freshen up and enjoy a hearty lunch – our first safari meal.

Let’s start the first of our many game drives. Most likely you’ll spot the park’s famous elephant families, marching to their favorite watering hole.

Toward evening we’ll return to our accommodation but keep an eye on Kilimanjaro. The characteristic clouds covering its peak may part, revealing its snow-capped grandeur.

Now it’s time for dinner and a chance to recap all you’ve seen on your first safari day.

We’ll spend the first of two nights at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.

FULL DAY AT AMBOSELI PARK

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As you’ll quickly discover, we like to get up early on while on safari – it’s the most peaceful time of the day when the gentle morning light softly plays on the fields and the wildlife edges out looking for its breakfast.

We’ll enjoy our breakfast and then set off in our 4 x 4, exploring for more elephants but also lions, cheetah, fox, monkey, baboon, zebra, and more.

Amboseli is known for its profuse and varied birdlife. Your guide will be looking to spot egrets, crake, heron, falcon, eagle, and Egyptian goose by the lakes and marshes, dotting the park.

We might take a drive up Observation Hill, step out from our 4 x 4 and look about the park for buffalo, hippo, pelican, and of course, the many elephants throughout the park.

As the sun’s light begins to fade, we’ll turn again to great Kilimanjaro to look for its snowy summit peaking out from the clouds.

You’ll spend your second night at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.

AMBOSELI – ABERDARE PARK (358 Km – Appx. 6 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll be up early for a final game drive through the Amboseli and then point our 4 x 4 north toward Aberdare Park.

Aberdare is different – not your usual African safari with its sun-baked savannah or rolling hills. Here we’re up country – think rich green forests, waterfalls, and mountain lakes.

Even our lodging is different here – you’ll be staying in a “Tree Lodge”, high above the park’s forests and its moorlands. From your balcony look for elephants, hyenas, buffalo, warthogs, and monkeys, strutting or scampering out from the forest to the nearby watering holes.

Though not too common, there have been sightings of rarities like the golden cat, giant forest hog, and the bongo, an unusually large antelope.

Your lodging here is at the  The Ark Lodge.

Note: only overnight bags are allowed at your tree hotel.

ABERDARE – SAMBURU PARK (221 km. Approx. 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We’ll leave our “tree hotel” and the cool, verdant climate of this unusual park for the more traditional expansive fields and savannah feel of Samburu National Reserve.

The Reserve holds great numbers of big cats like lion and cheetah but also big-tusked elephants. Not an overly touristed park, you’ll enjoy the sweeping horizons without the big crowds.

We can also visit two nearby reserves, Shaba and Buffalo Springs for a greener look with their forests and woodlands.

We will spend the first of our two nights here at your Samburu lodge or tented camp.

FULL DAY AT SAMBURU RESERVE

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

It’s our fifth day on safari! You’re starting to get into the rhythms of our natural world, so you’re probably getting up earlier… even without your alarm. Let’s enjoy the soft light of the early morning and the first appearances of the wildlife.

We’ll be exploring for lions and elephants but also some of Samburu’s “Special Five” like the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the beisa oryx.

The park is bisected by the Ewaso Ngiro River, cutting a green swash through the rugged terrain and making an excellent location to spot the thirsty wildlife.

If you desire, we can visit the local Samburu People, closely related to the Masai. We’ll visit their village and learn about their lifestyle up close.

We’ll relax, dine and share stories of the day’s adventures at our Samburu accommodation.

SAMBURU – OL PEJETA (180 km – appx. 3 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, we’re headed for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, but first, let’s enjoy one more game drive through the plains of Samburu.

Then we’ll point our 4 x 4 toward the cooler climes of Mt. Kenya and Laikipia as we travel to Ol Pejeta.

You can find a wonderful assortment of large and small game here – all of the “Big Five” and also more rarely seen species like the African wild dog and the chimpanzee.

We can visit the special rhino sanctuary, protecting these rare and endangered creatures.

We’ll spend the evening at your choice of Ol Pejeta safari lodge or tented camp.

OL PEJETA – LAKE NAIVASHA (186 Km – Appx. 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Our 4 x 4 will next take us to lovely Lake Naivasha, a freshwater retreat with surrounding green lands harboring antelope, zebra, and more.

Want to go on a bicycling safari? Nearby Hell’s Gate Park offers the chance to do just that! Pedal past zebra, giraffe, and antelope for a very unique perspective as they graze just feet away.

We’ll spend the night at your Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented camp of your choice.

LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA (285 km Appx. 5-6 Hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Let’s begin our day with a fun boating safari over the lake’s smooth waters, gliding by curious hippos as we take in the grazing impala and buffalo on the shore.

More explorations await at the close-by Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This private reserve treats us to quiet closeup views of waterbuck, wildebeest, gazelle, and much more in this special out-of-the-way park.

We’ve had a busy week so far, but our African safari is about to get a lot more intense. Get ready for Kenya’s most popular park, the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

After we arrive at the park, we should have time for an afternoon game drive. You’ll get a feel for this green sprawling park, adorned with Africa’s distinctive acacia trees.

The Mara is a busy ecosystem, one of the richest in East Africa. During your time here don’t be surprised to see great numbers of wildlife in a variety not experienced elsewhere.

We’ll spend the next two nights at the Masai Mara at our safari lodge or tented camp.

FULL OF DAY OF GAME DRIVES AT MASAI MARA

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is a day of unlimited safari action. You will have the opportunity to take part in as many game drives as you wish. The Masai Mara is famous for its many prides of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, plus uncountable grazers.

During the season of the Great Migration (July – October) get ready to witness the largest movement of animals on the planet. You’ll be treated to immense herds of wildebeests, zebras, gazelle, and even more flooding into the park from the neighboring Serengeti.

We will visit the Mara River, site of the great herds’ crossing where they must traverse the treacherous currents and even more threatening crocodiles that lay in wait.

Of course, most of the crossing wildlife makes it through but the drama here is unmatched. And then, once in the park, these masses of migrating animals must evade the numerous big cats that depend on them for their own survival.

We offer several optional experiences to enhance your safari. Enjoy a cultural moment with the local Maasai people. Visit their village and learn about these pastoral people closeup. And perhaps get some of their beaded handiwork as souvenirs.

Ever been on a balloon safari? Take an optional early morning hot air balloon over the park as the land and the animals come to life in the dawning light of the new day. Your driver/guide will be happy to arrange this once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Our final night at the Masai Mara will be at your safari lodge or tented camp.

MASAI MARA  – SERENGETI  (139 Km – Appx. 3 – 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Let’s enjoy one more game drive through this bountiful reserve before we cross the border into Tanzania to visit another world-class park, Serengeti National Park.

Remember all those wildebeests and zebra herding into the Masai Mara? This is the park from which they came, searching for taller grasses and water for their survival.

The Serengeti is immense with boundless wildlife, big cats and elephants by the thousands, and grazers…  up to several million.

We will have many opportunities to view this wildlife over our three days in this immense park.

We’ll spend the next two nights at Serengeti at our safari lodge or tented camp.

FULL OF DAY OF GAME DRIVES AT SERENGETI

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, we will have plenty of time to explore the reaches of this world-famous reserve. Besides the big cats, zebras, and wildebeests, we’ll be looking for all manner of wildlife such as honey badger, otter, African wild dog, mongoose, monkey, eland, impala, hippo, and warthog.

Should you be here during the calving season, (January – March) prepare to witness the most amazing scene of up to 500,000 wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle newborns dropping onto the fields.

If you wish, we will also explore the park’s forests and marshlands looking for hippos and crocodiles.

Our second night at Serengeti will be at your safari lodge or tented camp.

SERENGETI  – NGORONGORO  (227 Km – Appx. 4 – 5 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Our expedition continues as we turn toward another wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its magnificent caldera basin.

Along the way, we will make a stop at Olduvai Gorge, perhaps the greatest archeological site in the world. Great caches of early humankind’s tools and artifacts have been discovered here, illustrating our physical and social development from millions of years ago.

Arriving at the Ngorongoro Crater, we’ll take in the vast expanse of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera – 263 sq km (101 sq mi). This ecosystem is cut off from the rest of Africa, filled with green woodlands, swamp, and grasslands that is home to over 25,000 animals.

We’ll descend the steep crater walls in our Jeep and spend an action-filled day tracking for big cats, black rhinos, buffalo, and even pink flamingoes on the shores of Ngorongoro’s Lake Magadi.

As the day begins to wane, we’ll head back up the crater and take in one of Ngorongoro’s spectacular sunsets at the crater’s rim.

We will spend the night at our Ngorongoro safari lodge or tented camp.

NGORONGORO  – TARANGIRE OR LAKE MANYARA

 (180 Km – Appx. 4 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Tarangire Park

You will enjoy this lightly touristed park as it is short on other safari-goers and long on wildlife. This park even has its own smaller migration – about 250,000 animals. Look for lions, leopards, elephants, impalas, warthogs, ostriches, and lots more.

And during your game drives here you can’t miss the park’s famous baobab trees – a highly unusual species with an inverted trunk and wild branches that resemble a root structure. The poor tree appears like it was planted upside down.

Lake Manyara Park

Another lightly touristed park, Lake Manyara delights its visitors with its signature flocks of bright flamingoes feeding at the lake’s shoreline, creating a blanket of fluttering pink feathers. The birdlife here is rich and you’ll also find egrets, spoonbill, and heron.

The park’s wooded areas are just as enchanting, gifted with Africa’s very special acacia trees. And sometimes if you look up, you’ll find resting felines on the acacia branches. The park is known for its very unique tree-climbing lions!

We will spend our final safari night at our Tarangire or Lake Manyara lodge or tented camp with lots of stories of our two-week exploration.

TARANGIRE/MANYARA  – ARUSHA (140 Km – Appx. 1.5 hrs.)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

Hard to believe but it’s our final day on safari. One more game drive around the park and then we’re headed to the Tanzanian town of Arusha. There, your driver/guide will bring you to your hotel, the airport, or another place of your choosing.

Fourteen days – two full weeks and you’ve seen more safari action than most ever will. What an incredible array of parks, wildlife, and original cultures you’ve taken in over these busy days.

For all of us at Natural World Kenya Safaris, we thank you for your interest, your commitment, and the time you have spent with us. We won’t forget you and hope to stay friends!
